The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, known as Alli Okunmade II, has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

Oba Balogun served on the throne of his ancestors for a period of two years, starting from the day he received the Staff of Office from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on March 11, 2022. Confirming the news of his passing, Governor Makinde announced through his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, that Oba Balogun breathed his last on Thursday evening at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.

The passing of Oba Lekan Balogun marks a significant loss for the Ibadan community and the cultural heritage of the region.
