According to online reports, a Nigerian YouTuber named Emdee Tiamiyu who granted an interview with BBC which allegedly resulted in the UK government imposing a ban on Nigerian students from bringing their families to the UK upon gaining admission to a UK university is potentially facing 10-years prison sentence.
This development follows his controversial interview with the BBC, where he claimed to seek asylum due to purported life threats. The UK government granted his asylum request and provided him with £160k in support. However, subsequent investigations revealed that he allegedly deceived authorities and misused the funds to construct a mansion in Ogun State, Nigeria.
