LAUTECH students in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, are protesting the reported killing of a fellow student by a security agent, with two others injured. The incident allegedly occurred during an attempt by a policeman to intervene in a quarrel.

The students took to the streets, blocking a major road, and demanding justice for their deceased colleague. The police fired warning shots in response to the escalating situation, leading to one student being hit by a stray bullet and two others injured. Reports also suggest that one of the deceased student’s companions was allegedly involved in the incident.

Despite ongoing convocation ceremonies at the institution, students are calling for attention to be focused on addressing the tragic event.
