Nigerian government increases passport fee from #26k to #100k
The government of Nigeria has approved the upward review of the cost of obtaining the country’s passport.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced the new passport fees in a statement on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
According to NIS, the 32-page passport booklet with a validity of five years will increase from #26,000 to #100,000, while the 64-page passport with 10-year validity will now cost N200,000.
The increment takes effect from September 1, 2025.
The service increased the cost of obtaining a passport in Nigeria around this time in 2024.
The 32-page passport booklet with a validity of five years was increased to #50,000 from #35,000, while the 64-page booklet with 10-year validity was increased to #100,000 from #70,000.
However, the fees remained unchanged in Diaspora.
