Not for Boys: APC Chieftain Declares Seyi Tinubu Unfit to Govern Lagos State
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong opposition to the growing calls for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to run for the Lagos State Governorship in 2027.
In a recent Facebook post, Igbokwe described the campaign as a “needless distraction” orchestrated to discredit President Tinubu’s administration. He remarked, “Who are these faceless people pushing Seyi Tinubu for Lagos Governor? To pull BAT [Bola Ahmed Tinubu] down is their target.”
Igbokwe emphasized that Lagos, a state known for its complexity and dynamic challenges, requires a leader with proven experience and maturity—qualities he believes Seyi Tinubu does not yet possess.
The APC stalwart called on party members and citizens to remain focused on supporting the current administration’s efforts, warning against divisive narratives that could undermine progress.
The debate over Seyi Tinubu’s political prospects has sparked varied reactions, with some viewing it as premature and others as a strategic move for continuity in the Tinubu political dynasty.
